Nina Mahmoudpour

Nina serves as General Counsel and Chief of Staff at Type One Ventures, where she oversees the firm's legal affairs, advises the partners on legal, strategic, and operational matters, and manages outside counsel. Her responsibilities span corporate governance, regulatory compliance, fund-related legal matters, commercial agreements, and dispute resolution, alongside firm operations, investor relations, and organizational growth.

Combining her legal training and venture capital experience through an entrepreneurial lens, Nina brings an operator's perspective to her role. Before joining Type One, she was a founding team member at food-tech startup HUNGRY, where her work touched nearly every aspect of the business, from fundraising and strategy to day-to-day operations. During her tenure, the company grew from 6 employees to more than 200 and expanded into 12 cities in just three years. She also gained experience at a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm and a global technology accelerator.

Nina's interest in space technology began at Georgetown Law, where she authored her graduate paper on the role of non-state actors in space, examining the growing influence of private enterprise in space exploration and commercialization.

As Chief of Staff, Nina also oversees team management and cross-functional collaboration, helping align people and priorities across Type One's global offices.

Nina is of Iranian descent and grew up outside the nation's capital. She is a member of the State Bar of California and holds a J.D. from Georgetown University and a B.A. in International Studies and Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University.
